At Cavin & Stovall Photography,
we focus on the emotions, the celebration, the gathering
of family. We take those kinds of memories and all life's
events--mixed with a curiosity of what is happening around
us now--into our approach to image-making.
Simply put, when photographing a child, we believe it helps
to remember what it was like to be a child. When photographing
a wedding, we can reflect on that special day to draw into
print not only the look but the emotion of a groom seeing
his bride coming down the aisle.
The camera not only provides us the medium to create images
that stand as visuals in your ongoing lives but that evoke
memories of a certain feeling or mood. Photography can look
pretty and be technically excellent, but it also should
recall an emotion or feeling. At Cavin & Stovall, we
want to reflect in our image-making the innocence of a child,
the joy of a wedding day, the warmth of a family.
We move between traditional and contemporary styles of photography
to create our own Cavin & Stovall style of image-making---one,
as you probably realized by now, that must also convey the
emotions of this thing called "living." Just like
the song that suggests that "girls just want to have
fun," so do we at Cavin & Stovall Photography but
also with images that recall memories of a lifetime.
